Implementing Non-State Actor:
Save the Children Australia
Target countries: Solomon Islands
Solomon Islands is a source, transit and destination country for trafficking purposes. The country's reliance on the global economies - predominantly through expanding logging, mining and fisheries industries - has created an environment that places children at risk, including the domestic trafficking of children for the purposes of labour and sexual exploitation.
The project aims to educate vulnerable communities and strenghten the knowledge and capacity of national and provincial government and service providers on the risk factors and consequences associated with child trafficking and child sexual exploitation. Specifically, it aims to strenghten children's, caregiver's and communities' awareness and understanding of human trafficking and child sexual exploitation, as well as provicial and national government responders and service providers.
