Implementing Non-State Actor:
Samuel Hall

Target countries: Kenya, Somalia

Kenya and Somalia are both countries with large migrant populations, and large remittance flows.
There is wide potential for civil society organisations (CSOs) to engage on remittances issues and to enhance migration's impact on development on the local and regional level.

The project will build the capacity of CSOs and enhance their linkages with the tech and banking sectors in Kenya and Somalia.
It will also support the creation of an alliance of actors engaging with and representing migrant groups, as to improve financial literacy of migrants and their families.
This includes the creation of a communication campaign and the development of tools for improving financial literacy (apps) and for planning the use of remittances by families/individuals.
Finally, capacities in the area of data collection will be built, as to improve knowledge on remittances.
